Our

duty taking care and training my 1.5

When
I contacted K9 Solutions I was at
my wit's end! A first-time dog owner,
I had rescued my German Shepherd/Husky
at 6 mths old. Little did I know that
by this time, Karma, while beautiful
and very loving towards people, had
already developed a very strong, alpha
personality. Karma pulled on lead
until my arms were sore, was aggressive
with other dogs, refused to leave
the doggy park due to dog aggression,
I knew I needed someone special to
help us.
Penny's
natural touch with dogs was evident
from the first moment she met Karma.
I immediately saw the difference in
my dog's behaviour by simply responding
to her confident presence. Penny took
Karma for a 4 week board and training
program in her home and kept in touch
with me the entire time teaching me
how to build my own alpha personality
and how to properly relate to my pet.
The
results were amazing. Immediately
upon returning home, Karma walked
perfectly on lead, even sitting patiently
to let people pass us by on the street.
Unbelievable! Karma is attentive and
listens when I ask her to do something.
She came home crate trained, housebroken
and generally calmer and easier to
handle. Training suddenly became an
activity we both looked forward to!
Today,
Karma is doing fantastic! She has
become a wonderfully well-behaved
pet & my best friend. She is often
welcomed into shops because she is
so well behaved! She still has her
high-energy and spirited personality,
which I love, bu now she respects
boundaries, listens and responds.
Most
recently, Karma has begun going into
her crate on her own when she has
a nap after a long day in the park
or when she just wants some quiet
time hanging out in her "room".
Our relationship dramatically improved
because of K9 Solutions' training
and I cannot thank them enough for
helping us. I would highly recommend
K9 Solutions for your precious pet

"Gryphon
the Destroyer"
We adopted our
Border Collie/Sheltie, Gryphon from
the pound very soon after our previous
dog passed away. The previous owners
had surrendered him after a year.
The comments from them on the information
sheet were: 'chews everything all
the time, has no favourite toys, pulls
on the leash, does not get regular
exercise and spends most of his time
in the crate" We have an off leash
dog area nearby and knew it would
be a great place for a young and active
dog to burn off energy. At 14 months
he was a little too old for puppy
class and we quickly realized we needed
training on how to handle him. K9
Solutions came highly recommended
by friends so I called Paul and arranged
private training. It was tough going
some weeks, but the 3 of us have learned
a lot and we are still learning. Paul
even made a special trip to give us
some advice after our training was
over and Gryphon was acting up. Gryphon
has settled down in the house and
is now very good on the leash, even
with distractions. He is good off
leash as well, and my fellow dog walkers
have noticed how much he has improved.
We are still working at the 'off'
command. Paul told us that training
is an on going business and it's true.
Gryphon is a very smart guy and we
have to keep one step ahead of him
all the time. You can just about see
the wheels turning in his head when
he is thinking of getting into mischief.
Hats off to Paul and K9 Solutions.
We would and will heartily recommend
him.

Ashley
& Fred
Six
months ago we were at our wits end
with our Basset hound Fred, K9 solutions
was strongly recommended to us by
another obedience trainer who admitted
that Paul would be the only one able
to help us out. Man were they right!
After spending one month with Paul
and his family we got a new dog in
return. We are finally able to entertain
without worrying every moment that
Fred could turn into an aggressive
dog. Paul helped break Fred's bad
habits as well as ours. We have made
a big adjustment in how we handle
him. Thanks to Paul we can enjoy being
dog owners again. K9 solutions is
also there you if you have any questions
and is caring about how Fred is doing
and how we are doing with him. Fred
is a loved cherished family member
again. Thanks Paul!

"George
the 8 lb terror"
George
is our 4 year old miniature Dachshund,
who was an angel for the first two
years. Then he found his voice, and
began barking at the door, and then
we moved from an apartment to a house.
This seemed to be the spark that gradually
turned our angel in to a little devil
dog. After a few months after the
move, George began to get aggressive,
at first it was growling, then snapping
and nipping at my trouser legs. We
called Paul at K9 Solutions, who gave
us some initial advice over the phone,
which helped to reduce the frequency
of his tantrums. Paul was fantastic
in bringing to light seemingly innocent
home conditions that have caused so
much of this trouble. With this in
mind, we began a course with Paul
to re-educate and train both ourselves
and the dog. After two months, George
once more began to resemble to dog
we once knew, and with a new mindset
we continue to improve our relationship
with our dog. Thanks Paul!!
Kailey
I
first contacted K9 Solutions in July
of this year due to concerns, we had
with our three and a half year old
female yellow Labrador. Like everyone
else, we thought that Labs were a
nice gentle breed of dogs. That was
not the case with Kailey.
Kailey,
was this nice gentle puppy up until
she turned one and a half. After this
she became quite a handful. She became
resource aggressive; would not allow
us to hand feed her (we did this as
a puppy); when giving her a bone -
she would take it and run off to be
alone; she was all in all a little
testy to say the least. It was after
we had guests over and Kailey growled
at two of the male guests, we contacted
Paul. Paul had suggested to me at
that time that in-house extensive
training would be the best starting
point. We agreed to this and Paul
provided extensive in-house training
for Kailey for most of the month of
August.
For
the most part we were again able to
feed her out of our hands without
fear. Kailey was a lot more relaxed
around others than in the past. We
were advised by Paul of a number of
things that we were to continue with
to ensure success, such as sleeping
in a crate (not on our bed); no human
food unless in her feed bowl; no sleeping
on the furniture when no one was home,
etc. Needless to say, we did not fully
adhere to the rules and Kailey did
in fact act up again.
I
again contacted Paul, and without
hesitation he took Kailey back to
provide her with one more week of
extensive training, at no cost. This
assured us that Paul whole heartedly
was dedicated to ensuring Kailey's
success in becoming a trusted member
of our family. Since Kailey's return
home, we have adhered to all rules
as set by Paul during training. We
are happy to report that Kailey is
no longer a threat to our family and
friends. She is once again, as should
be; MAN'S BEST FRIEND!! Many thanks

Jake
I'd
like to extend my gratitude and appreciation
to Paul of K9-Solutions for all his
help with my Boxer-Schnauzer cross
Jake, ironically named after Jake
LaMotta the boxer, and a dog who seems
to fit that name more than I ever
could've guessed.
My
little guy isn't a mean dog, just
extremely hyper and high energy. I'd
done puppy classes with him, with
mixed results. To be honest, he is
the wrong type of dog for our family,
as both my parents are seniors and
unable to give Jake the type of care
he needs, and unfortunately I can't
always be there due to my working
varying shifts. That being said, none
of us want to give up on him as he
is an extremely nice little guy with
many good qualities, such as being
able to do practically anything to
him such as take his food dish away,
handling any part of him without fear,
putting your hand in his mouth to
take food out, even taking denta-bones
right out without any problems. However,
he does have discipline issues that
he needed work on.
From
the first time Jake met Paul, he knew
who was boss, and has been growing
steadily more controllable during
our sessions. The use of the prong
collar was a definite plus, making
him a treat to take for walks. The
lessons and skills Paul has imparted
to me are invaluable, allowing me
to enjoy Jake's company in a way I
couldn't before.
In
addition, just recently my mother
had to undergo a left hip replacement.
During that time, I boarded Jake with
Paul for over a month. I know beyond
a shadow of a doubt that he received
wonderful care as Paul discovered
a nasty wound on his neck caused when
he tried to jump a fence just prior
to his leaving for Paul's. During
the rush to get everything in place
before my mother's surgery, we'd missed
it under his fur. Paul found it and
treated it beautifully so it healed
perfectly. Jake also seemed to really
take to Paul's own dog, Reno, and
from the many e-mails I received during
his time away, I know they had a ball
playing together. Also, Paul was good
enough to take tons of digital pictures
and he e-mailed every one of them
to me so I could see how my little
guy was doing. To me, this shows a
level of commitment to his craft that
is extremely high.
Jake
has just come home, and his behaviour
is first rate. Oh, he's still high
energy, and he's tried to test the
waters to see what he can and can't
get away with such as climbing on
the couch which is a no-no. But his
attitude towards his discipline is
fantastic, without the hyperactivity
that he had prior to leaving. Plus,
he seems calmer and gentler and easier
to manage, allowing him to become
the family dog we always wanted. As
I sit here typing this, he's sound
asleep at my feet after having a great
day that included a two-hour walk
and a car ride, all without any incidents
or problems.
My
family and I are deeply indebted to
Paul, and we plan to continue training
Jake with him as he is responding
in a truly positive fashion. In addition,
I hope to be able to visit him so
Jake and Reno can enjoy each other's
company in the future.
If
you have any canine issues, Paul is
definitely someone I'd recommend as
he employs a no-nonsense approach
to dog training that doesn't involve
alot of shouting or yelling or mistreating
of your pet. They seem to take to
Paul immediately, and become much
better members of your family. The
foundations he provides will truly
benefit anyone as long as they continue
to put forth the effort required after
any classes are finished.
At
times, I wondered if Jake would ever
get better. Thanks to Paul, he has,
and I know he'll be better still.
Thanks
a million Paul.

Murphy
Our lovely and mostly obedient black male 3 year old German Shepherd dog has been very aggressive and dominant with other dogs…. making walking with him an exercise in fear and frustration. I tried all the tricks I could gather from the 'dog whisperer' and instincts….
Paul, of K9 Solutions, specifically, has been a tower of strength, providing patient education to me, and one to one help in training him to pay attention to my commands and thus avoid these frightening confrontations.
I cannot express adequately my thanks and commendation to him and advise anyone seeking hands on help with their canine, to reach out to him. Loyal, loving but firm, punctual and reliable…amazing guy…
Thanks Paul … from Murphy and I,

Rip
Two months ago I contacted Paul at K9 Solutions for help with my 3-year-old American Eskimo, Rip. He was aggressive with other dogs and impossible to walk, lunging at everything that crossed our paths. I had absolutely no control over him. Our lives changed the minute Paul walked through our door.
Paul gave our family the tools to teach our dog how to behave. He knew immediately what needed to be done and we got to work. We opted for the 8-week in-home training course and with each week, we saw an improvement in Rip. We began looking forward to our walks, knowing that we had complete control over our dog. Paul was with us every step of the way, teaching us how to properly correct our dog when necessary.
I can't thank Paul enough for what he has done. His expertise on dogs is simply amazing and his training methods work.
